The Berry Patch is a small diversified farm dedicated to producing high quality livestock. We are committed to a grass based approach with an emphasis on rotational grazing. We currently raise Registered Dexter Cattle, Boer Goats, and Tunis sheep. Because we have limited acreage, Dexter Cattle are a perfect fit for our farm. We have found them to be gentle, good natured and easy to handle. They are known for producing excellent meat and rich milk.
We chose to raise Boer goats because over 70% of the world's population eats goat meat. Boer Goats are a large framed animal resembling in many ways the Nubian Goat. Boer Goats produce high quality low fat meat. The most striking difference between the Boer Goat and any other type of goat you may have seen is the size. Boer Goats came to us from South Africa. The earliest recorded goats in Africa were brought to Western Uganda by the black nations as early as AD 1200. We produce full bloods and percentages for both breeding stock and for meat. Tunis Sheep are rare breed of sheep known for their red heads.
Please feel free to contact us to inquire about potential purchases or if you have questions. We breed year round so we almost always have something available.
